Bay Area Youth Fly Fishers Event at the Golden Gate Angling and Casting Club

The Bay Area Youth Fly Fishers (BAY- FF) is a collaborative partnership of Bay Area Fly Fishing clubs and Conservation organizations dedicated to enabling a new generation of fly fishers and conservation-minded youth.  The BAY-FF kicks off its new public youth program with this all-day event on May 19th to be held this date at the Golden Gate Angling & Casting Club's facilities.

Girls and boys will be introduced to a sport they can enjoy for a lifetime with both family and friends. The age range for this May 19 event is narrow by design (2017-2018 school grades 4-7). It’s aimed at drawing younger families who value fun learning activities for their children and teaching the virtues of patience and practice. This BAY-FF event is the first to be scheduled in a year-around program of planned youth activities with rewards designed to reinforce both accomplishments and skills progression. Kids will be learning about Fly Casting, Knots & Rigging, Fly Tying, and Conservation – some of the initial skills and understanding that they’ll need to have to truly enjoy fly fishing with family, friends, mentors, and guides.
