First Cast program at the San Rafael Civic Center lagoon.
This year, our 16th annual First Cast Day will occur on Sunday, May 21.  Children and their parents are invited to participate (no charge) for this event which will start at 9:00 AM at the San Rafael lagoon picnic area. Participants will rotate in groups through six stations, which will provide instruction on:
 

• Reading the waters
• Knot tying
• Entomology (BUGS!)
• Gear and rigging
• Fly tying
• Fly casting

At noon there will be a barbecue and raffle.
